AnthroScoPi - Scientific Genesis
Scientific Origins

More than software, the result of a PhD thesis.

AnthroScoPi wasn't born in a marketing department, but within the Laboratory for Research on Learning and Development (LEAD) at the University of Burgundy.

In 2014, Dr. Laurent Boidron, emergency physician and researcher, started from a critical observation: while aviation has flight simulators to manage risk, medical dispatch lacks tools to train for managing this "dynamic high-risk environment."

His thesis, titled "Simulated Medical Dispatch: Cognitive engineering in the design of a learning tool", laid the scientific foundations for what would become SimulPhone and AnthroScoPi.

  • Cognitive Engineering: The tool was designed to measure the 3 dimensions of medical expertise: relevance, behavioral richness, and flexibility.
  • Scientifically Validated: 5 experiments conducted on 80 professionals (Dispatchers and Physicians) proved the simulator's ability to objectively distinguish an expert from a novice.
  • Human-Centered: The study demonstrated the crucial impact of paraverbal elements (tone, stress, rhythm) on medical decision-making, integrating these factors into the core of the algorithm.

Turn Your Training into an Exact Science.

AnthroScoPi doesn't just record. It analyzes. Hover over the terms to understand our exclusive metrics.

Cognitive Expertise

Measure the quality of clinical reasoning based on the Raufaste model (2001).

Relevance ? Definition: Ability to select the most useful action or information to solve the problem with minimal cognitive cost. High relevance indicates a quick and safe decision. 88%
Behavioral Range ? Definition: Variety of actions and categories explored by the trainee. The higher this score, the broader the trainee's repertoire of solutions (mental models). 35%
Flexibility ? Definition: Ability to challenge one's own automatisms and change strategy on the fly if the situation demands it. 15%

Decision Pathway

Visualize the exact timeline of decision-making to identify time loss.

43s Avg. Decision Time

Typical Sequence:

History Information gathering phase on the context of the call.
Severity Phase of assessing vital urgency (triage).
Action Decision making and dispatching resources or advice.

Conversational Fluency

Analysis based on Sacks' model to detect friction in communication.

Overlaps ? Definition: Moments where the operator cuts off the caller (or vice versa). A high rate harms understanding and increases stress.
1.50
Gaps (Latency) ? Definition: "Dead air" or silences in the conversation. High gap duration indicates hesitation or excessive cognitive load.
4.15 s
Synchronization ? Definition: Ability of both speakers to align on the same exchange rhythm. A sign of good active listening.

Your Questions About SimulPhone

How does SimulPhone work in practice?

SimulPhone is a web-based platform. The trainer launches a scenario, and the trainee, wearing a headset, receives the call just like at their workstation. They interact with voices recorded by professional actors or controlled live. Every session is recorded to allow for an objective and constructive debriefing.

Are the scenarios customizable?

Absolutely. That is our greatest strength. In addition to our extensive library of cases (managing aggression, suicidal callers, stroke...), our instructional designers work with you to create scenarios 100% tailored to reflect your specific protocols and challenges perfectly.

Who is this simulator designed for?

SimulPhone is designed for all front-line professionals: 911 Dispatchers, PSAP operators, crisis management teams, sensitive customer service, law enforcement, and any profession where managing a difficult call is a strategic challenge.

Does it require complex installation?

No, none at all. SimulPhone is a 100% online (SaaS) solution accessible via a simple web browser. Deployment is near-instant and requires no intervention from your IT department, allowing you to start training your teams within hours.

Can simulation performance be analyzed?

Yes, and this is a key point. SimulPhone is natively compatible with our AnthroScoPi platform. Every simulated call can be analyzed using objective observation grids to measure soft skills, track progress, and precisely identify areas for improvement. You turn every training session into measurable data.

What is the difference from simple role-playing?

Realism and objectivity. Our scenarios are performed by professional actors to recreate authentic tension and emotional load. Furthermore, analysis via AnthroScoPi allows for a debriefing based on facts, which is much more impactful than subjective feeling. It is a true skill development tool.

What equipment is needed for a session?

It's very simple: a computer with a stable internet connection and a good quality headset to ensure optimal audio clarity. That's it. There is no software to install.

Can our internal trainers be autonomous?

Yes, the platform is designed for that. After an onboarding session with our experts, your trainers can launch scenarios, create sessions, and lead training completely autonomously. We remain, of course, available for continuous support if needed.

What are the concrete benefits for the organization?

The benefits are measurable: a reduction in errors in real situations, an improvement in satisfaction (caller or citizen), and a decrease in turnover related to stress. You are investing in sustainable skill building that reinforces your operational excellence.

And for the employees themselves?

Operators gain confidence and serenity. Training allows them to develop better stress management and handle emotional load. They feel better equipped and recognized, which is a powerful lever for motivation and retention.
